Just updated Vertex 3 from 2.15 to 2.22 using the OCZ Linux CD image. After rebooting, one of my RAID disks in my RAID5 dropped out of the array. Ok, fine, "huh? this must be a fluke thing" I thought. Rebuilt the entire array over 16 hours. Done, everything back to normal.
Booted up again later...now ALL DISKS were in "RAID member offline" mode. All 4 disks fail at the same time? Heck no. Must be something wrong.
Looked online for how to recover, and a thread somewhere mentioned that live CDs may cause this issue (although the Linux distro used by OCZ and the e-mail is different):
http://www.mail-archive.com/ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com/msg1518800.html
Then I found another one on how to fix it:
http://www.overclock.net/t/478557/howto-recover-intel-raid-non-member-disk-error
Hopefully this helps others.
Edit: haven't tried the fix yet.
Edit2: I'm on a P35-DS4 motherboard with ICH9R. As stated above, it's a RAID 5 with 4 disks.
