Don't drives purchased from Newegg have the same warranty as any other retail store?

Just went to check on what warranty i have left in an ALMOST 3 year old drive i bought from newegg (and still have the invoice for).

This comes up when i search the serial #:

Serial No Model No Status Exp Date
xxx6S1083547 WD800BB-00BSA0 No Limited Warranty Not Applicable

Number of drives eligible for Replacement: 0
Number of drives ineligible for Replacement: 1

and then

This indicates that either the Product was originally sold to a system manufacturer or the Product is outside the region(Americas, Europe-Middle East-Africa, or Asia-Pacific) where it was originally shipped. Please contact the system manufacturer or the place of purchase for warranty service.

Uhm, it was sold in the US and not in a system. WTF?
