I love the Split Enz with both Neil and Tim Finn, but don't like them apart. "Don't dream it's over" was on Crowded House's debut album and Tim Finn was not on it and I didn't like it. I think Neil by himself is a little too pop for my tastes and he needs his brother to balance him out. That's why "Woodface" was one of my favorite albums from anyone. Tim Finn rejoined the band for that album and you can clearly tell IMO by listening to it. They are kind of like the Beatles in that I don't like Paul and John separately, but they are magic together. Paul is too pop and John was a bit dark, but they balanced each other out great.
BTW.. I haven't heard the cover of the song, but I think that Sixpence is kind of gay (in a good way.
