Doesnt' everyone find it really really fricking annoying and really quite amazing that there can be SOOO many damn problems with comptuer hardware?

Really, we can now hit speeds of 2 and half gigahertz processors, amazing thrilling wow! YET STILL every other piece of hardware out there is UCKED UP beyond belief and riddled with incompatibilities and problems! Why the heck can't computer manufacturers get their acts together and just make HARDWARE THE WORKS!!??? Shouldn't there be STANDARDS for the ways things are made for more of this stuff so that things don't end up so horribly messed up????

ARG!!! I HATE COMPUTERS. Thats my rant for the day. G'day.

Yes, and no.. Hardware sometimes DOES have problems, look at all the VIA haters, I love my VIA chipset, I didnt do anything special to get it running good, some hardware is just kinda bogus sometimes.. Look at all the AMD haters claiming they arent stable. WTF? my AMD runs 24/7 without ever a glitch, literally!

some hardware really does JUST SUCK....

Actually , what "sucks" in that instance are techs who recommend and build mission critical rigs for business clients who require an ultra stable setup using parts that are well known in the trade as being fincky or having stability issues

Business clients want the rig up and running 24/7 no excuses ! I am lazy, I don't like extra work and I don't like pissed off customers, I think vanilla and I think stability :)

What sucks are:

- parts with bugs, flaws etc.
- combinations of parts which result in compatibility issues and overall system instability.

The solution is to select parts with care, not just the individual parts, but also the combination of the selected parts (e.g., SB Live! issue with certain chipsets).

It probably does suck. But look at all the mix of brands and models of parts that goes into them.

<< No, your grammer might suck, but computers for the most part don't. >>

actually it is your spelling that sucks, it is grammar not grammer, everyday I see different problems with computers, as soon as you get one running another decides to go fubar on you.

Not enough legacy driver support(who wants to write NT/2000 drivers now), and not adaquately tested XP drivers. To trim cost, manufactures picks and choose the OS they support which usually mean the driver for windows 3.1 or quantum leap to a spanking new XP driver, and then after this, MS has fun again and releases a new OS altogether.
