Don't buy the gtx 970

MANY (I suppose that not all) gtx 970's are plagued with an issue that causes your screen to lose display signal when playing anything that's even a little bit graphically intensive, even League of Legends. It usually starts happening 1 or 2 months after you start using the card. Myself and many others have RMA'd the card only to get one back that suffers from the same problem. I know one person who RMA'd 4 times to get the same crap. There is no apparent fix in sight. I tried to inform Nvidia about their faulty cards and showed them the links to all the forums about it, only to have them tell me that there are no issues with the card and that they're sorry for my inconveniences (and that of MANY others) which made me really mad. So guys, don't waste your money.

Well, I have 3 of them and not one problem. You have some other problem with your systems.

I second this with the exceptions of I have 2 and they work just fine running 24/7 since early December. So, you might want to start trouble shooting your system.

I have one in my HTPC, no issues at all. Maybe user error?

Had mine for a while now, no issues. Hell I even have the dreaded ACX 2.0 cooler or whatever it's called instead of the revision.

Mind I ask what's wrong with the ACX 2 cooler? Just not beefy enough? On a 960, it is pretty vast overkill it seems.

Yeah, OP never even makes another post on this issue. Spammer is all.

IIRC the ACX 2.0 rev1 didn't have the cooling pipes lined up with the GPU.

Troll post is troll. Lock and ban incoming....

Never had a lick of problems with my 970. I just finished running some OC tests on it and it never gagged for a second.

User error, indeed....

I always find it unusual someone will sign up just to complain about something... like anyone will look at it seriously? "I was ready to pull the trigger on a new GTX970, but then I saw that one-off post by NewGuy... whoo! Plucked back from the abyss in the nick of time!!!"

Cards been out a yearish+ now. If this was a widespread issue this thread would have existed a long time ago.

Perhaps you bought a Make/Model that is plagued with issues, but it doesn't seem to be something inherent with the 970 as a whole.

Then again you may just be a troll. This Forum has been there/done that before.
