Thanks for the warning - but since I have never heard of "Primax" I wouldn't buy one anyway.

Well, Primax is a company that is well known in Europe mostly for its scanners: they are good and cheap. Not as good as Microtek or HP or others, but good enough for someone who scans something once per week. I was satisfied by my scanner but in WinXP the driver sucks big time.
