Although I will say that I just installed an ASUS 9800XT without a single issue or problem - not one.
 
You're upset cause your card wont run in 8X AGP?

It useless, paper feature, might at best give you .0000001% performance increase. There is no need for it enabled or to be "working".

I'm not going to bother reading all the crap in that link but maybe the problems lie more between the computer and chair than in the video cards? 8X AGP is next to meaningless and not worth troubleshooting to get enabled.

I'll admit that in the past I've found Nvidia cards easier to install but my 9800 is working flawlessly with no tweaking necessary. In fact, it's flashed to a pro and overclocked past default "pro" speeds.
 
Funny.. I havent had any problems switching to ATI, but of course I must have screwed up or something!

happy with my 9700 Pro... has a driver glitch or 2 that I am mad about... but the card itself rocks.. not weeping, sorry fool.

unfortunately I am among people who are having problems with RADEON 9600 but my problem only occurs when I try to play Age of Mythology =( my system just stops responding =(

what the hell are you trying to accomplish by posting this crap? no one cares that you cant get a video card to work properly. die.
