I found this interesting little tidbit of info on TechNet today, while I was searching for info on optimizing ATA/66 in Windows 2000:
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q260/2/33.asp
The important theme of the article: "Windows 2000 does not support ATA-100 (Mode 5) for IDE hard disks. All ATA-100 IDE hard disks that are used with Windows 2000 default to ATA-66 (Mode 4)."
This is interesting because the same page also posts a hotfix, but it seems to be pre-SP1. But what is the hotfix supposed to fix anyways? It doesn't mention. Also the version numbers conflict with the files from SP1. Maybe someone wants to install it and see if there's a performance gain on ATA66 or ATA100 hard drives.
