I have to disagree with you in some parts..the gore is improved, but I don't like how you can't shoot peoples arms, legs, etc off like you could in SOF1, now you have to do it when they are already dead.

That's not true man, infact that is WAY off. Half the time I kill somebody is because I blew off their arm and they can't attack me anymore and they just kind of stand their for a few seconds and slump over and die.

On the first SS I blew the guys arm off and he stood their in shock, then fell down. Then I took my knife and knifed his face up a few times and knifed his leg off.

The second SS I blew the guys head straight off and blew his leg off after he was dead (but i've blown their legs straight off the first time.

here man if you want me to go get a SS right now of a guy standing with no arm right after I shot it off i'll be happy to.

ehem, people don't listen to him, i have got it and i have the following specs:

P4 northwood 1.6a
512ddr
geforce 4 ti4600

the game runs fine, i had long load times on my other computer with only 384sdram but with this new one the load times are very very much more faster. Also i dunno what he is on but when you shot someone its not "unprecise" , its very realistic, he was prolly running around trying to play it like quake , and when you run the guns bounce around so if you are running and shooting it is kinda hard to nail someone in the head. The psychis are awesome, you shoot someone manning a machine gun nest and they slouch over it, same goes for chairs, etc. I'm on the jungle lv's and its been nothing but fun, right know its like playing a vietnam game. this game has the best gore technology lot more than the first sof. here is some screenies: (oh and the multiplayer kicks arse)

I don't know guys, I gave the game to my cousin and he says it's a blast (he is running it on 15"mon, 800x600 res. , duron 800mhz, 256 ddr, kt266a, TNT2 ultra)

I don't like it.
I never liked the Q3 engine either, and not a single game born from it, maybe I am getting tired of these games that lack creativity.

Nevertheless, can you post your exact settings you have for the game, cause I have huge load times and intense disk activity before starting it, I don't know whether it's the ram (256 mb) but jesus christ
I play playstation2 games and the console has only 32mb of it.
Unreal tournament also loads on my pc in 1-2 seconds.

yes, its because your ram, on my other computer with 384sdram it had longggg load times but on my 512ddr ram the load times are soooooooo fast, you can tell the differnce easily.

It is a pretty good game and runs smooth on my old 1GHz T-Bird with 512MB and a Ti200 @ 1024x768. Needed to upgrade my drivers though because I haven't done that for a while.

Raven games seem a bit rushed these days. Seems like they are developing 2-3 games at once and pumping them out as fast as they can. I wasn't that impressed with Jedi Knight 2 or the SoF2 demo. It just feels like more of the same. Btw, i just looked at those screenshots you posted. Those are gross!

If you want to play a really good FPS game, i would *HIGHLY* recommend Deus Ex (pronounced Day-us-ex, NOT Do-sex). I've been playing games all my life, and Deus Ex would rate up there in my top 3. Best of all it can be gotten for $20 these days if not less.

OK guys I got the game and have been playing it a bit tonight...

Some of you are right, there seems to be a couple of problems:
- When the enemy is far from you and he hasnt seen you yet, sometimes u cannot shoot him...
- Load times are quite long... much longer than GTA3...

+/- Unlike SOF1, the weapons recoile... You loose accuracy when u go full automatic...

However, the gore is much better than the first one... I love the enemy's reaction after you shoot their arms/legs off (they would stand there and scream awhile before slowly dying).... You can shoot a body into many many piece as well... In SOF1, you can only blow an enemy's head off... but with SOF2 you can blow it half-way off, or put a hole in the middle... things like this...

The graphics are OK, nothing really great here, but not bad at all... The covert ops after refreshing... so instead of shoot everything you see you actually have to hide...

Overall I am really happy with the game.... Having loads of fun shooting things up.... sad to say, I am having more fun with this game than GTA3...
