Along the same logic as not allowing price checks, I'd like to institute a policy of not allowing recommendations for PC games not yet commercially available.

Happens way to often in PC gaming and I even see guys purchasing whole new systems based on what some numb-nut recommended for hardware.

I think we all know its not a good idea to speculate even if there's expected hardware requirements on the publishers web page, because they have been known to change drastically (higher or lower) right when the actual game debuts.

Honestly in theory it's a logical idea. In practice people are just going to do it anyhow, and we have bigger fish to fry in the meantime...

I honestly just want to lock all of those stupid threads in PCG, but if people want to discuss potential upgrades and are silly enough to buy hardware based solely on that discussion, well that's their prerogative. There is almost always at least one post mentioning the folly of upgrading based on pure speculation, so I think that should suffice for now.

I have a feeling most people just want to discuss the game and speculate on the hardware required and few actually go ahead and make actual purchases based on the discussion in the thread.
