Donnie Darko -- Director's Cut

I saw it about a month ago (seattle it came out first I think). Great, I like it better than the original... I saw it before the original though. Some of my favorite scenes were cut in the original and that starting music in the original is terrible, Gary Jules' Mad World is awesome. Wraps up the movie start and end very well also.

does it piss anyone else off that you pay 8 bucks and they dont even show the whole movie the first time around?

no. I assume they cut it for time, not to make an extra couple bucks with the re-release.

it just so happens that the movie had been selling/renting pretty good since it was put on DVD, and a lot more people have become exposed to it, so they're bringing it back to a limited number of theaters with some extra scenes thrown in.

i'm usually not worried by time constraints when I set out to see a movie i guess.

Is this on DVD? I'd like a Donnie Darko Director's Cut DVD. That would be a good item for the ol dvd collection.

late bump.

I saw it tonight... the director's cut was awsome. tons of extra scenes, most of which weren't among the deleted scenes on the DVD. there's a fantastic conversation between Donnie and his father. for anyone who never watched the DVD with the director's commentary on, it also helps the movie make a lot more sense.

it seemed like lots of the sound effects were altered and enhanced to increase the drama as well.

whuts fuhhseeteeus mean?

now see here. i'm just in an asenine/bump my post count/make fun of the irish kind of mood tonight. and thats all i'm gonna say.
