I picked this up yesterday, even though I don't own a Wii (roommate does). Being a huge fan of the DKC series on the SNES I have been looking forward to it.

It is amazing. The game plays so well, and is pretty difficult. I only played through the first world, but the bonus level for it was extremely challenging (and they remove the checkpoints in them apparently). Retro did a fantastic job, and I can't wait to play more. Did anyone else pick it up?
 
this game does look badass and i had planned on getting a wii again by now when they announced it at E3.

but that didn't happen and now i got enough games to play so i doubt i'll get a wii again any time soon.
 
Loved all of them on the SNES, so this is the first wii game I'm actually bummed that I can't play 🙁
 
definitely getting this eventually, but already have kirby and 007 for the wii. Gotta finish those first. The wii has been red hot this holiday season.
 
I just picked it up today, I can't wait to play it, I am going to try it out tonight when I am free. I loved the DKC series, the SNES game being my favorite, but N64's offering was pretty legit as well.
 
My wife and I got a Wii because she doesn't like all the violent/serious racing games I have for the PS3 and Xbox 360. So far we're on the last world of SMB Wii in co-op mode and just got Mario Kart Wii a week ago. She already told me she wants Donkey Kong Country Returns for Christmas so that'll probably be next, along with Goldeneye which remains my favorite console game of all time.
 
I ran into a minor annoyance last night (that is possibly just user error). Level 2-4 has you riding on some whales and you can do ground pounds to make them spout water, which you can use to shoot you up. It worked fine almost all of the time, but I cannot for the life of me get it to launch me high enough to grab the N. It was extremely frustrating.

Aside from that I had a blast again last night. The rocket barrel level was good times.
 
I picked it up...had to. DKC is such a classic. Did anyone else get chills from hearing the remix of the original DKC theme song? I totally forgot how incredible the DKC soundtrack was. Loving this game right now, and this is the reason why I love the Wii and glad it's around. Timeless platfomers like these are almost totally ignored by the other consoles. It seems the only thing they know how to do now is compete for king of the FPS.
 
My SO got it for me for christmas. We've spent the last few days locked in the house playing it, and just beat all the levels....

Now to get all the puzzles pieces, do time trials, and
mirror mode

She also got me Kirby: Epic Yarn, which we'll play next.
