Tariffs will just make everything more expensive, no?

Not to derail or anything, but do you talk like that? Making a declarative statement into a question by attaching NO or YES to the end? Wouldn't it be simpler and more conversational to ask "Won't tariffs just make everything more expensive?" Means the same, more what a person would say in normal conversation.

I tend to do it often on this forum. It happens because I type out the statement because I am pretty sure it is true but then I start wondering if it is really true. Easier to add the no on the end instead of retyping the whole thing.

Everyone is missing the real story over this....
That Fox News is totally freaking out.
Fox and their friends are very upset and very concerned that Trump's candidacy will demean the entire republican election process.
In other words, Jeb will have to debate and address The Donald.
And that, somehow, will make Jeb look bad as well as the entire election process for the republican party.
I don't know, but I guess Fox is concerned Donald Trump could make Ted Cruz look bad?
Or Ben Carson, or Lindsey Graham, or Bobby Jindal, or Rick Perry somehow look less presidential?
Gee... I sure don't see how.

I can see Trump running rings around any of the other candidates because among all of the candidates, Trump is the one most similar to a used car salesman working out of a hole in the wall operation with only three clunkers for sale, and he'd be able to sell every one of those wrecks to Mario Andretti in under five minutes tops. 😉

He'd make any and all of the other candidates look absolutely silly in a verbal jousting match.

I think that's what the RNC is really afraid of.

edit - Years ago, a young local comedian announced his candidacy for governor. The front runner looking for re-election blew up into a frantic hissy fit claiming that comedian was making a mockery of the contest. The comedian retorted that "the contest was already a mockery so I decided to join in the fun."

I think he picked a great song to announce his candidacy to. The lyrics tell me all I need to know about him.

"There's a lot of people sayin'
we'd be better off dead
Don't feel like Satan,
but I am to them"

Keep on rockin in the free world!

Neil was very, very unhappy that donny boy used one of his songs to promote himself.

Multiple times, Trump has announced and never made any progress; ego trip only

I believe this is the first time he actually announced. Previous times he acted like he was going to only to "decide" not to. I'm sure this time when he's not invited to the debates he'll cancel his campaign. Even Trump is aware of how ragingly incompetent he'd be as a President, he just wants publicity.

He's got the same chances as Fred Thompson.

Don't get your panties in a bunch Chicken Littles, Trump is going nowhere. File this one with Gamersgate and the NAACP uselessness also.

This is NOt a job for... DIVERTOR!!

I don't know much about Trump but I am already thinking I'd like to vote for him before I vote for another Bush or Clinton.
I think it would be a huge plus for the nation right now to have someone with no political background as president but there is another choice and based on what I know right now, I'd prefer her.

We keep voting the same excrement into office but we've been conditioned to think that's the right thing to do. This thread is evidence of that.

If you mean Carly, she has less of a chance of just making the debates than Trump does.

Do you guys not like him because of past crazy shit he has said, or because he was saying crazy shit in his speech?

LoL the dude is a boss. His speech was def all over the place, but it resonated the most with me. I couldn't even hardly watch Jeb Bush, geez.

“Today, Donald Trump became the second major Republican candidate to announce for president in two days. He adds some much-needed seriousness that has previously been lacking from the GOP field, and we look forward to hearing more about his ideas for the nation,” DNC Press Secretary Holly Shulman said in a statement.

'nuff said.

He adds... seriousness

Well, I suppose Donald could hire/pay enough actors to vote and get him elected.
Anyone out there wana make 15 bucks?

Trump is the prime candidate for the P&N Conservatard vote:

The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems. [Applause] Thank you. It’s true, and these are the best and the finest. When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.

BTW - When Trump does well in the polls what will that tell you about the GOP base?

That they view Mexicans as rapists.

So which GOP candidate will be the first to denounce some of the crazy azz shite Trump was spewing in his announcement?
