1) Trump is still acting like this is some game show and that it is all about himhis PR campaign is all about him
2) He thinks this will BOOST his presidential campaign it probably will, he is undeniably the reason this was released
3) He still wants to verify its authenticityWell that's because he wast interviewed before he was able to see it. He was operating on hear say. seeing is believing.""I want to look at it, but I hope it's true, so we can get to more important national issues." Hardly unreasonable

How many framers of the constitution could have been technically dual citizens? Surely a country of immigrants wasnt so hateful of their immediate heredity

Is this guy for real?

"I feel I've accomplished something really really important and I'm honored by it," Trump said at a press conference held during his pre-scheduled visit today to New Hampshire. Trump noted that people have long been requesting the document, but Trump was the only one who got the president to release it. Trump suggested Wednesday this development will boost his own potential presidential candidacy.

Trump said he and others are still going to have to assess the document's authenticity. We're "going to look at it. We have to see if it's real, if it's proper," Trump said. But he added that he's "sure it's the right deal" and is looking forward to moving on to more important issues such as OPEC and China.

Am I living in bizarro world?

It doesn't list Religion as Muslim and Preferred Government as Socialism. FAKE!

Obama was pretty dumb for releasing it now. He should have waited til Trump became the GOP candidate and then release it to crush any hopes of Trump winning.

I agree with this, although maybe he is trying to convince everyone he really is scared of Trump to help Trump get the GOP nomination.

If I was Obama, Trump is definitely who I would want to run against.

Pretty sure they all renounced their citizenship when they came here.

"The President believed the distraction over his birth certificate wasn't good for the country. It may have been good politics and good T.V., but it was bad for the American people and distracting from the many challenges we face as a country," White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer said in a statement.

This is true. People should be more interested and enraged over our involvement in LIbya.

*sigh* and WND does not disappoint in advancing the birther movement further now that they BC is out.

You would think someone there would be able to just quickly look up the Kenyan Constitution, primarily the part that states you can't hold dual citizenship in adulthood.

My favorite part of that is how they label it the 'birth certificate'. As we've said in the past, there's literally no evidence that will convince the crazies.

If the document proves valid, it could answer the questions raised by those who have alleged he was not actually born in Hawaii. But it also could prove his ineligibility because of its references to his father. Some of the cases challenging Obama have explained that he was a dual citizen through his father at his birth, and they contend the framers of the Constitution excluded dual citizens from qualifying as natural born citizens.

Is this true? Do some people believe that because his father was born in Kenya that Obama is ineligible to be president. How far does that logic go? If his Great Grandfather was born in Kenya is he still ineligible?

Does that mean that:

Thomas Jefferson (1801-1809)- mother born in England,
Andrew Jackson (1829-1837) - both parents Irish,
James Buchanan (1857-1861) – father born in Ireland,
Chester Arthur (1881-1885) – father born in Ireland,
Woodrow Wilson (1913-1921) – mother born in England,
and Herbert Hoover (1929-1933) – mother born in Canada,

were all illegitimate presidents?

I'm pretty sure only the real fringe are still questioning this. My curiosities have been satisfied.

I'm pretty sure only the real fringe are still questioning this. My curiosities have been satisfied.

The fringe were people not satisfied with Hawaii not wishing to break its rules regarding long-form birth certificate release, having already released the certificate of live birth and having multiple people swear to seeing the long-form birth certificate.

Within that fringe group there is no dividing line of stupidity, whether or not some are now more satisfied than others.

Depends - can you see Donald Trump? Look for a poofy-haired middle-aged guy with a generic store-bought trophy wife, making the same moue that 90% of female idiots make in Internet photos.

They wouldn't have needed to: the "natural born citizen" requirement was not the final say in the Constitution. There was a specific clause allowing others to be President. Had that not been the case there could not have been a president for several decades after the Constitution was adopted since the first several Presidents were not natural born citizens.

Tina Fey wishes she could make this stuff up, but nothing beats the original.

"I think the media is loving this because they want to make Birthers as they call people who are just curious about the President of the United States and his background, and his associations, and his consistency with what he says today versus what he said in both the memoirs that he wrote, or Bill Ayers or whomever wrote. Uh the media is, is loving the fact that some curious Americans are actually asking the questions, and they're trying to make those curious Americans sound kind of crazy so the media is loving this issue and they're perpetuating this issue trying to make it sound really worse than it is," - Sarah Palin
