Donald Trump had the military fire live rounds over a California highway this past weekend. Why isn’t this front page news?

Much as I would fear for someone’s life Newsome should have left the highway open. If someone was killed or seriously injured it would have been 100% on Trump

Why isn’t this front page news?
Military claimed it was standard training. They "do it all the time". Or at least annually... or... something.
What, you don't believe a fascist regime hellbent on chaos, looting, and violence?

So what if they hurt someone, it's the cost of doing business. Man up and take it on the chin like a good little serf.

It's not front page news, because MAGA Nazis bought and paid for nearly all the media now.
It's not front page news, because of said chaos, looting, and violence becoming common place now. What is one more instance added to the pile?

When Republicans vowed they would not impeach for crimes, they fucking meant it. They abandoned law and order then. They continue to abandon it now. They attacked the 2020 election. They keep military on our streets. They boast of concentration camps. They loot BILLIONS from the public. They shatter the cost of living. They kick millions off of healthcare. Off of food assistance. They are unilaterally murdering innocent people in the Caribbean.

It's not front page news, because the world... and the country once we knew has ended. What follows is going to be a hell of a lot worse. And much of it will be done in the darkness.

I don't know how they do things down there in Pendleton, but the base near me has artillery training exercises on a pretty regular basis, which tends to generate a lot of noise. They announce when these exercises will occur via news releases and social media. I'm somewhat skeptical that they do exercises over I-5 with any regularity without mentioning it and without incident.

It seems like they may, in fact, do the same thing.

We hear the FT Knox arty practice on the reg.

Fort Knox artillery training creates loud booms across WAVE Country

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The Army National Guard 2nd Battalion 138th Field Artillery Brigade has been busy training for combat at Fort Knox, firing off 155-millimeter howitzers which have created a lot of noise across WAVE Country.

“You never know when we get the call from Uncle Sam and we have to deploy, so we’re just trying to maintain a high level of readiness,” Lt. Colonel Michael Woodson, commander of the unit said.

So the big story here is that a regular Marine training exorcise occurred with one minor incident and no injuries.
The Marines should absolutely be forced to pay for touching up the paint on that police car that got scratched.

TIL shrapnel embedded in a car is a "scratch" and can be fixed with touch up paint.

Also we'll just ignore the administration shitting on the very idea that anything could possibly go wrong.

For an old man greenman sure does love still carrying buckets of water.

Did you see the picture of the damage? It was a fragment of metal that made a tiny little ding and a short scratch in the hood. It was a none event that would have never made the news if Vance wasn't there.
Dumb crap like this simply draws attention away from the things Trump actually should be called out on.

I'm just going to consult my right-wing outrage simulator...

Hm, it says that if Obama or Biden had been in charge while a live fire training exercise over I-95 in Florida occurred without closing the highway, it would have been reckless and wildly irresponsible, and proof of the imminent mobilization of troops against innocent Americans for their fascist takeover by imposition of martial law.

Shooting live rounds over a civilian highway is not a regular training exercise. Asked a few AI search engines to find other times when that happened and none could be found.

Why would you still believe Donald Trump?

Do they fire live rounds over civilian houses? Big difference vs containing it to the base.

Do they fire live rounds over civilian neighborhoods?

And what would have it done if it hit a person?

People do have convertibles

I saw a picture of a shell fragment embedded in a windshield. Can you not accept that it’s just dumb luck that the officers who were there also were not hit and that human flesh is much more susceptible to damage from shell fragments than a car?

I guess getting hit by stray shell fragments is just a minor inconvenience but I am sure you would be pretty pissed if it happened to you.

When you're bailing out a sinking boat, every capful of water counts.
