He pointed out the flaws in our government that allowed people like him to take advantage and trash it.

We now know that we need to create and implement a TURNIP test for all future presidents.
Trump Universal Racist Narcissist Insurrection Prevention
If only there were a drug that would do that. We don't have a litmus test for poisonous potus wannabees. We exposed the fact that 70 million Americans were dumb enough to vote for someone on a flier, a complete incompetent.

hahahahahah Trump was to busy promoting himself to worry about starting any new conflicts....lolol
The only reason Trump didn't start any conflicts and hesitated to escalate any is he was afraid to do it. He dreaded actually acting as commander in chief of armed conflicts. His grasp of foreign policy, military strategies, diplomacy, international relations were very weak. He instinctively knew that if he were tested in these realms he'd continually suffer, so he shied away from military involvement. Instead, he conferred with all the generals and called them all a bunch of babies and idiots to their face. Typical disfunctional, defensive, deflective Trump behavior.

Trevor Noah makes the point (at the end) that Trump exposed America's weaknesses and we'd better waste no time in fixing them:

One real thing he did was step up NATO members game. Permanently. The full effect is not seen yet, and its not least attributed to the fact that another Trump may happen somewhere down the line. From an European perspective a good thing.

Seems far too early to say where that is going - if it goes anywhere (everyone might just roll over and go back to sleep, so to speak). I'd say 'from a European perspective' it's an ambivalent and highly uncertain thing. Might be good, might be bad, might not amount to anything at all.

Exactly. He knew he was out of his comfort-zone in that area. His cowardice is one of his few redeeming qualities. Just imagine if he'd had all his dysfunctions _and_ been a military-minded guy and not a coward. You would have something getting close to Hitler, in that case (still woudln't be cunning enough, though).

I would be super surprised if that was the case... As for NATO members all getting to that 2 percent is good or not is up for debate I guess.

Trump's accomplishments? Oxymoron of the day!

Come on, admit it, Trump in the White House didn't do shit but fuck things up. Alliances, environmental protections, subverted again and again, democracy here and abroad trashed. Good will completely absent, respect not in evidence, his mantra was who needs the Truth... tell lies, sow division and reap the rancor. Good riddance, we can't dispense with his ugly shadow and filthy lies fast enough. May he dry up and disappear like a puddle on a warm spring day.

Donald J. Trump helped Antifa proliferate. They seem to be everywhere now--even showing up at Trump rallies and protests disguised and undetected. Trump's own FBI allowed Antifa to grow exponentially while they busied themselves with white supremacists. For all of Trump's bluster, he seemed to foment the perfect recruiting ground for Antifa in the United States. Job well done, Mr. Trump.

One might even go as far to say that Donald John Trump is the founder of Antifa.

I fear his puddle has become a sinkhole.

NOT pardoning ANY of those that attacked Capitol Hill after they begged him.

Fools expecting otherwise
I hope they throw the book at all of them, including the ex-resident of the WH, now in FL.

I didn't crap on my neighbor's lawn today. Yay me!

Not doing certain specific bad things isn't an accomplishment. Trump probably never murdered anyone by his own hand while president either. Yet it isn't an "accomplishment." Accomplishments are things you do, not things you don't do.

The fact that people feel the need to resort to non-actions to describe his accomplishments is a sorry testament to the legacy of his presidency.

DT had basically one strategy/tactic: Nixon's Madman.

He was a wild card, no one knew what was going to make him snap, and everyone kept walking on eggshells around him. In some cases, its a really effective strategy (especially over the short term in international relations where the US' outsized and absurdly advanced military makes everyone nervous) and in other cases it completely blows up in your face when your allies don't know what you're going to do but your enemies do (most recent examples are basically all of Covid and the $2000 stimulus check fiasco).

Unlike Nixon, who for all his faults was definitely not a stupid man and was a shrewd political operator, Trump lacked vison or an achievable endgame for employing this tactic.

He DID improve things with Israel and Palestine.

And you know what's funny?
Neither Trump himself, nor his family, or staff, or GOP bootlickers, or the professional pundits, or Fox News EVER BRING IT UP!

They always rattle off a list of straight up lies and highly debatable things like employment, or "The Economy" or "He made it OK to say Merry Christmas Again!" or some other bullshit.

They never remember his one real accomplishment.
Well, that and he did not start another foreign war. But I dont give him credit for that because he started a domestic war that will probably rage on for decades.

I think the main one is that he showed just how vulnerable our government is to partisanship. Expecting politicians to do the right thing according to tradition and convention, regardless of what their ignorant voters think? Nope. We might has well get rid of impeachment, because it's never going to happen no matter what the president does if his party has enough people to oppose it. I feel the Dems would be more likely to do so than the GOP, they tend to get rid of people caught in scandals (Weiner, Franken etc) while scandals just help GOP candidates win primaries.

Trump was a tireless champion for the ultra-rich, that poor downtrodden class. Tax reform alone was what, a nice 40% cut in their taxes (and for the low, low cost of trillions!)

Pesky environmental regulations were tossed out left and right (especially anything done by Obama). Who cares about mercury in the water, corporations need more money now!

He made us even more hated and distrusted around the world, which I guess to the GOP is a feature not a bug. Who needs 'em, you globalist...

He has set a new bar in how much you can just blatantly pull "information" straight from your ass with a straight face and have half the country think you are fantastic for it. We are sliding into an anti-science dark age full of conspiracy thinking and Trump is a major symptom of it. There are no facts anymore, just the ones you assert. The only good news is that I think the GOP is going to have a hard time finding someone as willing and able to spew dementia-sounding tortured-grammar ramblings that appeal to their base.

Trump had many non-accomplishments, but what's fascinating to me is "the wall."

Ask some supporters and they'll tell you he built it. But not only did he fall far short of completing it (much of was done involved updating existing walls), it was already falling apart before Trump left office.

Pretty symbolic of the Trump regime, really — a failed plan guided by xenophobic fantasies, a mistake that will be erased forever.
