Loved him on the Andy Griffith show of course. He could make you laugh out loud without saying a word like in the scene in Three's Company where Jack and Chrissy are in the bathroom putting up a shower curtain and he overhears and misinterprets their conversation. His expressions were hilarious.

So sad to see him go.

I'm a little too young to remember Barney Fife (other than my parents loving him) but I loved Three's Company when I was a kid, he was a real character.

LOS ANGELES Feb 25, 2006 (AP)?LOS ANGELES Feb 25, 2006 (AP)? Don Knotts, the skinny, lovable nerd who kept generations of television audiences laughing as bumbling Deputy Barney Fife on "The Andy Griffith Show," has died. He was 81.

Knotts died Friday night of pulmonary and respiratory complications at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills, said Paul Ward, a spokesman for the cable network TV Land, which airs "The Andy Griffith Show," and another Knotts hit, "Three's Company."
