I used unknown not about what we do not know about the dark side of human nature but what we fear, our fear of the unknown.
Fascists rise using the same rhetoric in response to similar economic failures. To lay out a target for the ignorant to dehumanize and then to exterminate.
You ask for faith... that the exterminator will not exterminate. Even after we are several chapters into their act. We know how the story ends.
I asked for no such faith. I asked for faith such efforts will ultimately fail because they go against the human, not the animal direction the emergence of brain power has enabled. Humanities strength as a social ape took a new direction for survival, cooperation and mutual care via empathy.

After Jan 6th, I had complete and total faith that MAGA would exist solely to end our Democracy. What aspect of (Project) 2025 does not verify these results? The fact that we may yet write words? Give them more time. The slavery of women (and us all) will be made complete. It takes them time to complete their power grab and to seize the last vestments of what was once the United States of America. To grow their gestapo from which boots are applied to our necks.
You will not like the idea that I can see someone, or a nation, jump off a cliff and predict the result. I do not consider it the unknown...

For humanity has been here before. Many are here today, enslaved by their nations. The institutions of our nation, now unmade as they are, were the only things separating us from absolute evil. We are unchained. Unleashed. Our home will become a living hell. While it is possible Americans go meekly, as the Russians...and so many others have before us... I yet have hope that those who value liberty will fight for it. My hope is in the blood stained earth. For I see no other path.
I know how you see the world. It is a view I speak against. It is a view of hopelessness and fear, of mistrust, of defeat of confidence caused in my opinion by repressed childhood trauma. You are projecting your inner condition, in my opinion. You are clinging to the vine. The result is that you lust for combat and blood with others doing the dirty work. You advocate but do not act yourself. Careful you don't yourself become radicalized and throw away your precious life.
Is this some sort of psychological defense mechanism, where we forget their crimes? Where we forget their unlawful acts? Where we forget their intent?
Where we forget the totality of Project 2025 as it is playing out, by its very architects, before our very eyes?
It's not about forgetting anything. You think defense mechanisms because that is what drives your words. There is truth, the real world, fact based seeing and then there is how you react to it, how what you see triggers or does not trigger what you experience. You see doom. I see an effort that will and must fail. You seek revolution as the cure. I see inevitable collapse. Authoritarianism will naturally fail. That failure will come through a revolution of disgust, the repelling inevitability of evil. We create what we fear and what authoritarians fear is the human demand for autonomous freedom, the force within us that draws us to the light.
Are we pretending we still have elections that they will accept, pretending that we still have rule of law, and pretending we still have three branches of government? Pretending that we still have a Democracy and a Constitution?
You cannot both remember where we are at, here and now, and pretend there is anything remaining to protect us through civil discourse.
Civil discourse is not required. You see doors that close, not the ones that can't be closed. If you imagine the answers lie in things that fail you will experience hopelessness when you see them fail.
