Dominoes pizza delivering drones....

The US government delivers drones too*

*Offer available in limited locations. If you'd like to be notified when when drones are available in your locale, enter your email address here_______________, and we'll keep you updated.

I wonder how much these cost. You would think each location would need a few of them. Plus, I would think there would be maintenance. Not to mention what could happen if these things flew into a suspect neighborhood.

I can see these things easily subsidized by the federal goverment...

We will have drones flying around with the videos streaming to the government intelligance agencies... all disguised as an innocent drone delivering your pizza... :sneaky:

Good point, I'm sure they are pricy and then "look, I gotz free pie and a free toy!!"

that would be pretty awesome. but if these became mainstream soon they would be abused as weapons and for various other malicious purposes

Let's be honest here...Dominos has been using drones to deliver their pizzas for years now, like all of the other big pizza co's.

The difference is, these aren't manned. 😉

No flying permits are needed to operate the drone up to 126 meters off the ground, as detailed by NBC News

recently; only permission of the landowner is required.

Somehow I doubt they are going to get permission from every homeowner in a 4 mile radius to fly their drones. I know I wouldn't give it to them.

Fly that thing over my house and Ill shoot it down.

I was wondering about that, too. Strangely, I've been thinking about this for several weeks now...after reading an article about civilian-bound drones, and they mentioned using them for delivery service.

I assume that all payments are made prior to delivery, and that these things can fly high enough to avoid any random street-based gunfire until they reach the destination--not that sideways-shooting hoodlums would have a good chance of picking one off, anyway. :hmm:

Of course, there will be theft, as there's a chance they will break down in transit and might go missing--but I imagine these little things will have all sorts of tracking devices.

Don't give the NSA good ideas please.

commercial UAS use will be growing over the next few years. It's already used pretty commonly in Japan for many uses.

Dude. Really, how far away are we from ROBOCOPTER. Drones run grid searches over every neighborhood just feet above your house recording and sweeping.

You call the cops 10 drones appear in front of your house and announce "STATE YOUR EMERGENCY. YOU HAVE 10 SECONDS TO COMPLY. 3...2....1....
