Dominator?

I'm intending to buy and OC an E6850 and air cool. I'm concerned about the temps in the case, here specifically with regards to the RAM. The Dominator series has build in heatsinks. Do I need these? Is there another line with heatsinks that's a better value? Any specific recommendations for 2GBs of RAM?

Thanks.

Best deal out there on quality memory. Guaranteed to use Micron D9GMH (ask at xtremesystems.org in the gskill section). Overclocks to DDR2-1000 4-4-4-12 easy and up to 1200 with relaxed timings depending on motherboard.

As for heat, all memory will get a little hot, you can always place a fan blowing onto the memory. You can even find the Corsair Dominator airflow system online and it clips right onto the RAM slots with 3 fans blowing air down to the memory. Most memory will tolerate alot of heat, as long as you keep them at a low enough voltage you won't need to worry.

here is the fan if you're interested in it. I use it because I typically run my memory above the rated voltage of 2.1 (no more than 2.25 though). http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16835704001

I'd say yes because there aren't many situations where having DDR2-1066 at 5-5-5-15 is noticably better than DDR2-800 4-4-4-12. If you're overclocking, most quality memory sticks will go beyong their rated speed easily. Most DDR2-800 these days will get to or close to DDR2-1000 levels.

I prefer to keep my memory on tight timings rather than loose timings and high Mhz. Bandwidth goes up and you can test this, but most apps don't gain much. Day to Day you won't notice.
