Domesticating Men 101

Gentlemen:

How long did it take your wife, girlfriend, etc. to domesticate* you after moving in with them? And if they DID domesticate you, what steps were taken to do so? HELP!!!!

*Domesticate:
To adopt or make fit for domestic use or life.
To train or adapt (an animal or plant) to live in a human environment and be of use to humans.
To bring down to the level of the ordinary person.

Or to just plain learn how to pick up after yourself and live in relative cleanliness rather than squalor. 🙂

Sarah

newsflash: Men are ordinary people who live in human environments. It's women who go crazy and insist on a sterile, hospital-like environment😛

I'm not arguing that, but how LONG did it take you to contribute to said sterile, hospital-like environment and stop resisting the inevitable???

Sterile like a female public restroom?

I take offense to that. My organization skills are just different.

The word is system.

It's a system.

I'm damn close to posting a picture of your "play room" and asking the guys here what the hell system could come out of that!

Don't have a wife, a girlfriend, or even an etc., but I've been quite capable of doing my own cooking, cleaning, etc., for myself since age four or thereabouts. My preference is to maintain a level of tidiness such that I could be ready to entertain with an hour's notice (somewhat longer if food preparation is involved). I could stand to dust more often, though.

Actually, I've never dated anyone who was into cooking, cleaning, or any of the traditional domestic stuff. Not really an issue as long as they didn't leave a trail of disaster behind them (which one in particular did). Do women do that kind of thing any more?

I just had a flashback to 2001, when I first joined the forums. Gregg, Sarah, it's nice to see you quibbling online again. 😉

oh boy gregg and sarah having relationsihp issues..

just my 2 cents.. adjust to each other and make changes for eachother.. remember it has to be two ways.

Men are like Wild Stallions.......... hard to break their own habits because they have been ingrained since birth........ nay........... it's in the genetic code 🙂

To change them.......... you must have sex with them 2........ 3.............. 4.......... or however many times a day until you break them, :Q 😕 😉

Cheers,
Aquaman

Technically, the "spread it all across the floor so you can see everything" system is, in fact, a system.

HAHAHAHAHA

Women are the grossest people I've had to deal with! My god! My house is fvcking immaculate except for my room, and thats pretty damn clean too. My bathroom is brighter than titanium!

You have no idea how gross is to have a girl that leaves her rolled up pads on the counter. 🙁

Yeah, that seems to be the general philosophy around these parts. 🙂

Just because our system is more time efficient than your system is no reason to hate it.
