There is a website that has listed my name slanderously. When I went to the WHOIS, it lists the registrant, administrative, and technical contacts as all the same, being: DomainsByProxy. If you are not familiar with DomainsByProxy, they are the sister company to GoDaddy. They offer, for a sum of money to be able to hide your identity. I sent DomainsByProxy a letter explaining the situation and they sent me back a form letter denying my request for any contact owner information.

Does anyone know how to get around DomainsByProxy? I’m guessing that as soon as I start legal proceedings against the registrant/administrative/technical listing (being DomainsByProxy) that they will quickly reveal who the real owners are of this website. As far as I’m concerned since DomainsByProxy are listed as the owners, they are the person to litigate against. Any thoughts?

They wouldn't be the one to sue - they probably don't control the content. But, if you start legal procedings, you should end up with the actual name in no time. IANAL.
