Domain Transferring

How long should it take for a hosting company to transfer a domain to another host? I'm curious because I'm trying to do this and it is taking much longer than I would expect.

If you are transferring from Network Solutions it could be longer than others. They intentionally make it difficult.

It took almost a week to transfer my domain from Network Solutions to GoDaddy.

Is the name not transferring, or has it just not propogated?

Make sure to check email from both new and old registars, as you need to get confirmation emails from both of them, usually.

This provider doesn't have a phone number. Just email support and an online support chat that is never online.

I did just reach their support on AIM though and the guy said that for some reason tickets aren't getting to him when submitted like they're supposed to. Weird since they have emailed me multiple times requesting information. 6 days ago is when I gave them the final piece of info required for the transfer (name servers).

He is going to try to resolve it as we type. Hope this gets done. Need this transfer to complete.

That's what I did. and had to fax a form and do the hokey pokey and turn myself around. it was ridiculous.
