domain registration / update scams..

so i get an email about a domain that is about to expire.. only problem i dont own that domain, espcially in teh .us format..

stupid ppl fall for it, they cite all kinds of things, like domain going to expire etc etc, protect your trademark etc..

stupid scammers.

I got a letter in the mail from some "Canadian Internet Registry" saying my memoryfire.com domain was expiring soon, and that I could 'conveniently' transfer it to them and have them charge $40/year for it -- or $70 for 2 years. I got a good laugh out of that one.

I just forward those e-mails to the guy in Nigeria who keeps bothering me. I think the domains are his.

I've even gotten some of these via snail mail. I just find it funny that people renew or protect their domain via a company that has no affiliation with their registrar.
