who are these people? I tried to re-register my domain and the whois says they own it????

I tried a couple other domain names and got the same result.
 
Lots of companies just go and buy up lots of domain names to you have to pay them more money that it's worth if you want to buy it from them.

my domain name was nothing that anyone would want besides me. I already figured out what my new one is going to be...but this got me wondering.
