MrDudeMan

yes, i know, i was an idiot for registering with manlius.com and also getting my domain registered there. now that manlius is gone, how can i get my domain name transferred to 1and1 or godaddy or somewhere else? there is no way to contact them and my domain is registered until january 5th...

actually that isnt very far from now. maybe i could just wait, unless there is a quick way to get it transferred somewhere else.

any ideas?

is your email the admin contact for the domain? If so, you can initiate the transfer yourself. Otherwise, you may have to contact ICANN

i cant use the domain or anything that is related to it. i cant access any admin controls for email, the site, or the domain. the site that registered it went belly-up and completely poofed from existance.

ill check out this ICANN business. what is it?

Yes, but if the domain is registered there is a contact email address attached to it. Do a whois on the domain and look at the administrative contact. If it is an email address that you have access to and is working than you will be able to transfer the domain by initiaiting the transfer at your new registrar. The transfer request email will be sent to your domain's admin contact.

You should always use an off-network e-mail. Anyways, if there is no way at all to get a hold of the company that registered the domain you need to contact ICANN. All domain registrations go through ICANN at some point. I could probably tell you more if I could see the whois for the domain name
