Domain name hit counter?

What's an easy way to get stats on URL redirects? I have some domain names through Namecheap and I want stats on how many people use that domain name as a referrer. I could forward it to a blank page with a hit counter, then redirect it to the main page in 1 sec., but is there any other way?

sorry to hijack, how do i code a page to automatically redirect to another one? no delay wanted.

it's simply a case of wanting users going to /blah/index.html to open a differently named .html file in the same folder.
