Domain Name Help???

I am new to this and wanted to purchase a domain name through my yahoo store. When I put the name in, it gave the following information:

Created on..............: Sat, Mar 04, 2000
Expires on..............: Tue, Mar 04, 2003
Record last updated on..: Wed, Mar 06, 2002


I am just curious since it expired on 3/4/03 why it isn't available? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

it could be months before that name is available for sale again. Even though it expired on March 4th, it may not become available until November 4th if the "owner" doesn't renew in that time frame.
 
Most registrars do not make the name available for some time after it has expired. This may be from weeks to months depending upon the registar.

Why not try contacting the registrar and asking about the domain in question to see if they will release it?
