I am new to using dolphin and would like some feedback on whether the gamecube or wii roms are preferred. Is there a big size difference with the files?
I believe my system is capable of running both from what I have read.

Game in point is Zelda: Twilight Princess
The only differences I seem to find is free camera control on Gamecube version and widescreen option on Wii version.
Any others?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

If you are going to be using a controller, I believe the GC version is optimized for that. I believe the GC version was much better anyway, because I hated the Wii's controller and motion garbage.

I will be using an Xbox360 controller. Also I assume the camera control is far better than Ocarina of time using Poject64? That drove me crazy. :(

Well, the GC still only has a single joy stick, so I believe the camera is still wonky. It has been years since I played it.

Weird .... I see a lot of posts about GC having free camera control. Hopefully it isnt as bad.

The problem with free camera control is how do you control it? You have one joystick and a 'c' stick. The 'c' stick could be used, but it still won't be nearly as intuitive as the two joystick method that has been done in the modern consoles.

Nope. GC controller has an almost identical button layout to the Xbox 360. They just label the right stick as the (C-Stick). Weird, but it's Nintendo we're talking about.

The GC version of Twilight Princess works best with the 360 controller. However, Dolphin does support the Wiimote. All you need is a wireless sensor bar and and Bluetooth adapter.

Does the C stick control the camera? And it isn't exactly a joystick, more like a joynub. >_>

Thanks for the update. Thats encouraging to hear. Looking forward to play it.
I just need to do some research on the best config for the Video/Audio and such. I registered on the dolphin forums so should have plenty of info to work with.

Yes. I've played the Gamecube TP on Dolphin with the 360 controller and it works quite well. I use the select button for my Z-Button.

Been trying to get Wind Waker working but it's finicky. Having issues with the sound. After a while, it eventually stops playing sound effects.

I don't think you are understanding the fixed camera question. OoT (in places that were full 3d, not isometric towns), the camera was "fixed", or at least uncontrollable. The OP asked about TP, and if the camera was not fixed (like if it was controllable) and in the link cmdrdredd provided, it is only free in first person mode (which the means it is indeed "fixed" like OoT).

You probably need the DSP file to run the DSP LLE recompiler rather than the HLE emulation. I cannot provide the file but you can find it if you are determined.

HLE sound emulation was rewritten recently so its likely fixed in a GIT build.
The swiss widescreen hack supposedly works well with TP so unless you want a right handed Link I would pick the GCN version.

So I installed the Gamecube version of Twilight Princess and the right analog does indeed control camera movement quite nicely. In fact compared to OOT its a huge improvement. Game runs like butter.
Set it to 1080p and auto internal resolution. Might try and set it higher on internal, not sure how auto works.

Now that I have dolphin running smoothly, need to look at some more games.
