Dolby output on A8N

😱 I've got an Asus A8N motherboard (SLI), in general very happy. But I'm having NO luck getting my dolby decoder to recognize a 5.1 or better signal. I'm using the optical output line and already configured the SPDIF for a 'digital' output via the Asus sound control pannel.

I DO get sound, but only 2 channel. And I have configured it for 6 speakers via the same control pannel.

Seems like this should be really simple. What am I missing??

Unfortunately, the A8N on-board sound blows goats 🙁 There is no on-the-fly DD encoding like Soundstorm had, so you're stuck to using the analog sound ports for 5.1 stuffs.
