I feel dumb for asking this since a couple years ago I did video production work, but today I get in a dvd player and home theather system, both capable of supporting dolby digital and came across a question while setting it up. The cable that goes from my dvd player to the receiver needs to be a 75 ohm coaxial connector and both ends are rca. Thats just a "standard" audio/video 2 conductor cable with rca ends right? I couldnt think of anything that would be special about it but wanted to be sure :)
Thanks

oh, the topic of home theatre, one of my favourite. i'm going to assume that the connection is for video only. alright, yes, composite (rca) cable ARE the standard for dvd connection. other higher quality connection are coaxil(f-type) and toslink (fibreoptics). these connections are recommended for dvd playback quality. and better yet, there is component connections. this requires a 3-cable connector, where each cable carries red, blue and green, the primary colours used to create other colours. if you have any more questions, then icq me. good luck
