according to the dolby site, the mains should be angled paralled to the wall/perpendicular to the seat. however, i see some audio enthusiests have them facing at an angle, towards the listener. are there advantages and disadvantages for both setups?
 
You should play around with the angles a little to see how it changes the sound.

This can improve imaging and may change the tonal balance of what they sound like at the listening position.
So, try out some different arrangements and see if anything sounds better to you.
