Dolby Digital and Sound blaster Live (Not 5.1)

Is there any way I can get Dolby digital to work out of SB LIVE? It has a SPDIF output,but no matter what I try with the settings in power dvd I can't get it to work. In other words, I know the Live 5.1 is capable of AC-3 passthrough, is the SB Live Platinum (not a 5.1 model) also capable? And if so, how do I do it. Thanks in advance.
