If only this was more important than the proper permits and procedures for shutting down a freeway to the very concerned folks.
The people who were very concerned by the violation of norms by Democrats in eliminating the filibuster don’t seem as concerned about the violation of norms created by a president pardoning his co-conspirators after they helped him cover up some crimes.

So
There should have never been a Mueller investigation. It was a waste of resources and damaged people who shouldn't been, turned up nothing that the Democrats hoped it would. It was just a bs waste of time.
So you are OK with letting a legitimately convicted criminal , who by the way threatened witnesses, to go Scot free, cause rule of law no longer matters, it's just about whose team you are on.

So the fact that it demonstrated numerous episodes of Trump campaign collision with Russia to sway the election is a non issue?

Additionally, the fact that it's written in plain text that the only reason mueller didn't indict is because he deferred to DOJ guidelines (not) is also a non issue?

Or, more likely, you have no idea what you're actually talking about and just swallowed political talking points?

That investigation sure found a shitload of crimes and collusion between Trump and Russia for an investigation that should never have happened.

What a bizarre world to live in where you would have wanted all this to remain a secret. Partisanship has rotted your brain.

Law and Order and Gotham City.
Where are the Batman's when we need them?

This outrageous stunt should be the game changer. From now on dems, no holes barred. When it comes to fighting against Trump, anything goes. And remember, the whites of their eyes, the whites of their eyes....

LOL @ "violating norms" in relation to the filibuster. The media doesn't help by calling it "the nuclear option." I bet some people think the filibuster is in the Constitution. It doesn't even have the legal status of a federal statute. It's a house rule for the Senate. It's been changed 5 times in the past.

I agree and suspect probably a majority of the country thinks it’s some sort of thing in the constitution as opposed to a loophole some random senator figured out.

The senate is already highly undemocratic, it should not be even moreso.

I knew. I also know its just the beginning. Four more years and we are looking at a whole new geopolitical picture.
Only a miracle can re-elect Trump. The whole situation will only get worse as we approach the election. It'll really get bad in places where Governors & too many people have succumbed to Trumpian stupidity. Rona gonna do 'em hard, harder than they ever imagined.

Here is what worries me about all this. What now is to stop Trump from just blatantly cheating to win the election? We have pretty much all agreed that there is no one and nothing that can do anything to him. What is to stop him from just pulling out all the stops and doing anything necessary to win? What happens if in a month of so Biden comes down with a case of Polonium poisoning? Would we even do anything? Could we?

The answer to that is no, and I'm being 100% serious. If Trump were to have his opponent killed he could simply use this exact same playbook.

Congress could impeach him, people say? What would stop him from saying 'I hope you don't come down with the same disease Biden did.'?

Problem is, is that Trump already bet the farm trying to discredit Biden. Guess what happened, he got fuckin impeached. Never forget this. 75% of his election strategy went down the toilet.

Absolutely this. The bluff of "checks and balances" was called. It should be interesting to see how this election goes as there is clearly nothing in the legal system preventing him from illegally tampering with the election. Honestly, it would be kinda dumb for him NOT to comit crimes to maintain power.

The only remaining constraint is that he would have to kill Biden in a way that wouldn’t lead to people realizing it before the election. I do think electoral defeat will doom Trump but that’s it.

I’m sure lots of people think Trump would never do that and they are so, so wrong. Trump would absolutely do it if he thought he could get away with it. That’s the only constraint.

That's extremely far-fetched, a proto conspiracy theory. I'm not buying into anything like it. This whole contrived drama with Stone is just part of the Trumpian bullshit everybody is sick of. It's utterly corrupt, start to finish.
