Oh look a squirrel.. anything to distract!
Nah. 100% self serving act.

But now pardoned, I recall hearing that they no longer have immunity to not testify to Congress. No option to pled the 5th either. So this will come back to bite both of them in the ass.

So new impeachment? Are Democrats going to challenge this obviously corrupt commutation? Where the hell is the public? It's weird that one stupid cop killing one black man registers so much more.

I agree that the public should get riled up big time about the level of corruption this admin and it's enablers have made it to.

I would not down play protesting police brutality to say that.

I guess a lot of us were too optimistic.

Is commuting a sentence different than a full pardon? Can the sentence be reinstated in the future?

He only commuted the sentence. He has not been pardoned for the crimes, so stone still has all of his felonies.
I don't think he can be resentenced as the power from the president cannot be appealed by anyone. IINAL but maybe one of our resident lawyers will chime in.

It doesn't really matter in Stone's line of work. Utterly corrupt? Of course. Perfectly legal? Sadly so. There is no further recourse against Stone.

So why does no one care? Because too many people believe that all politicians are crooked. Joe too has his skeletons, and we will definitely hear more of that as November approaches. People show anger over racial injustice and cops murdering people and children locked in cages, but people never come out when a politician is proven an asshole. People believe that all politicians are assholes and surround themselves with wealthy corrupt assholes like them. After all, how else would a politician raise millions of dollars to run a campaign, blue-chip stamps? Girl Scout cookies? Raffle tickets? People never come out to protest an asshole even if that asshole happens to be the president of the united states. It's like the mob, people have no idea how that works and they don't want to know. I have no doubt this pardon or whatever it is will not lose Donald Trump one vote. Now, should Trump use the "N" word in public, then we will have a president in trouble.

It's just weird that it's as if people just learned about police brutality. Reports of police brutality against white and POC get reported every now and then. Fivethirtyeight had a few graphs showing how rapid perspectives changed on it, and I'm just dumbfounded why it all of a sudden exploded. Drug war has done far more damage to the black community, so death has to be a big factor. And it also matters (the character of the person) who gets killed e.g. prison rape doesn't even register despite being preventable -- a lot of people seem to believe they deserve whatever happens on top of the sentencing.

Rofl, literally everyone who gives a shit already got riled up, and got told to sit in the corner and color. Nobody gets to be shocked and amazed at this point that wasn't prior.

Haha, nothing like these protests.

Fuck trump, fuck him until the end of time. I underestimated how horrible he'd be.
And the sad part of it is this POTUS, this entire administration is so horrific the Stone case will be old news by next week. Going back to January we've had a legit impeachment, US army personal having a price on their head by Putin, a pandemic that could not have been handled worse, Dump refusing to set/show a proper example by wearing a mask, infighting against Dr Fauci who clearly understands the situation, a Tulsa rally in a pandemic hot spot, suggesting people might be able to "inject" Lysol to cleanse the lungs, I could go on but you get the point.

Yup, this shit will fall off the news radar by the end of the weekend, either due to their ineptness or something more horrific this administration does. trump is a total cvnt, his sycophants are worse.

I think that’s what’s surprised me the most. I knew trump would be incompetent, I knew he was corrupt, I knew he would surround himself with the worst people, but I didn’t realize that the level of incompetence I was expecting from trump could be exceeded. I didn’t realize the level of corruption would go beyond simply grifting the federal government out of money. But the one thing that really surprised me was the number of people he surrounded himself with and the degree to which they would support his incompetence and his corruption. Like I knew barr was a partisan hack but even I didn’t see him putting aside any shame he might have to do trumps bidding and to stop any accountability into trumps corruption.

Everyone knew the bar would be lowered, however we didn’t know the bar would be removed completely!
