Doing up old pc

I had an old machine with a p4 2.53ghz , 1 gig ram and a ti 4200.. ive ordered a dual core 2.6ghz intel and a new motherboard for $299 aus and i was wondering since it doesnt have an agp should i buy a pcie card or will the onboard x300 handle basic gaming? Its only got a 15inch monitor and will be a back up machine.

so try it and see. if it's not enough then buy a video card. wouldn't even bother with the CPU/mobo in the first place though.

thanks, when i buy a new card for this machine in a few months ill throw a new psu in it and wack my 7800gtx in there.

The x300 will be fine for light gaming. I have one in my laptop and (severely OCed) it played FEAR great at 720x480 with medium/high settings.
