doing taxes. where?

so I"m a newbie at this, and I dont know anything about my income taxes.

how do I go about doing it? My dad usually pays someone to do it, but we want to try one of those online things so we dont have to pay.

do you guys have any reccomendations?

Federal will probably be free but you will probably pay $20-30 for state even doing it online unless you can find somewhere free to do it.

I use TaxCut every year. Works like a charm, and only takes me an hour or so.
