Doing RAID with different size hard disks?

I currently have an IBM 75GXP 15 GB hard drive, and I want to do raid eventually. Suppose that I purchase an IBM 75GXP 30 GB hard drive, would striping not be as effective in this case? As I visualize it in my head, striping on identical hard drives distributes data evenly between the two drives, but I fear that with different sizes of drives it might distribute the data unevenly. Is this correct?

you still lose the 15 GB off the 30 GB.

striping or mirroring, only the same amount of space is utilized on any drive of the array.

basically, if you do RAID those drives, you have 30 GB to use, rather, 2x what the smaller drive has in terms of capacity.
