Doing laundry in the sink FTL.

Just moved into a new place..

It has no washer and dryer. Moving strapped us for cash, so we can't just go buy them.

I strung some string across the bathroom, and have the heat lamps on.

Good times! 😀 You can actually get clothes cleaner washing them by hand anyway, although it is time consuming.

Oh, and before everyone screams "laundromat", I don't want to sit in there for 2 hours, not to mention spend like 10 bucks.

I tried that.

I gave up and decided to wash each article of clothing separately. It's hard to agitate a tub full of clothes.

lol

Craigslist FTW!!! You could probably pick up a decent washer and dryer for a couple hundred easily...maybe even less.

Yeah, that's the plan. It's pretty easy to find them on there for cheap, but will have to wait until next pay cycle.

We're excited too, this place has a gas dryer hookup. Never had a gas dryer before, but I've heard they're much better than electric ones.

wow, sorry man

It's not that big of a deal. 😉 Sounds worse than it is. Just an inconvenience.

Takes about as long to wash a load as it does in the washer, except you have to stand there and do it.

Heh, yeah. I was using a plunger(new, of course) for a while. It still seemed easier to just wash each article separately.

I suppose if I got into the tub with the clothes and went to town, that might work... lol

Heat lamps? 😕 And why, exactly do you have heat lamps? I used to have heat lamps, but I had tropical reptiles as pets. And you have...????

gas > electric. Also true for stoves.

WTF...doing laundry in the bathtub? I've done that while traveling on business b/c the hotel laundry sevice was $$$ but at home?

Unless you were forced to move, maybe you shouldn't have moved until you could afford the basics, such as the ability to wash your dirty drawers? I mean, really...what's up with people these days?

I re-used ONE styrofoam plate and ONE plastic set of of fork/knife/spoon for weeks before i was able to afford some dishes. But I was always able to wash my damn clothes. You can always eat out (but that's expensive) but you need clean clothes, dude.

Isn't that what their called?

My bathroom has two big lights, separate from the normal lights, that make it really hot in there.

I am able to wash my clothes. In the sink! 😉

Kinda like how people did it before the washing machine was invented 125 years ago....

Oh, I'm sorry. You've got the normal, built-in heatlamps. I thought you had the mobile fixture type heat lamps. Sometimes used for heating reptile enclosures and sometimes used for heating rooms...where certain plants may or may not be growing. 😉

There's no need for heat lamps when growing tomatoes when you've got a 1000W metal halide bulb or two burning.

😉

😀 Ahhh yes; tomatoes. Lovely tomatoes. I hear the budding tomato plants are especially fruitful this year. That the smell of the fruit on the vine is just overwhelming...in it's natural growing state. I hear that drying the tomatoes out for awhile before attempting to cook them in a dryed tomato dish is helpful to the...digestion process.

OK, I"m leaving now.

True for stovetops, but electric > gas for ovens. They actually make hybrids to take advantage of both.

Here in NM is the first time we experienced a gas oven.

They both have advantages. For the stove top, the instant off heat of gas is nice, but the heat control ability of electric is nice.

Whats the advantage of an electric stove over gas? Seems pretty similar to me. I like the gas burners overall though.

I used to sit in my car, read the newspaper and drink beer.
