Doing Jury duty on September 8...

I still got paid when I had to do jury duty, I wasn't picked and was sent home after being there for 50 minutes, but they said it still counts.

I've done it three times now. The first time I had a week long civil trial where the plaintiff was awarded $48. The second time I went through jury interview but didn't get picked. The third time I only had to stay the first day for a couple of hours.

I just served last week. A three day ordeal, it was actually interesting to see how a trial unfolds, studying the lawyers, and the other participants and jurors.
It was a civil case. Six jurors, (5 women and your's truly). When all was said and done, we quickly and unanimously reached a verdict in favor of the defendant. She was not guilty of negligence! She does not have to pay $50K to the plaintiff! Accept some responsibility, man!

I had jury duty the last week of July. We had a gang banger case, 18th Street vs MS-13. The way it works here in Virginia after we determined guilty or not guilty we then had to decide the sentence as well. It was pretty interesting.

Now that is the kind of attitude that fosters good citizenship.

just tell the judge taht you can tell a man is guilty just by looking at him.

"See that man over there? He's guilty. I can tell just by looking at him. I got an eye for JUSTICE!"
