doing computer stuff and seeing it on tv

Is there a way for me to watch a dvd on my computer, but connect the computer to the tv so that it can be seen on the tv?

is there a cable or wire that can do that? any special hardware?
 
Well if his video card had a TV-out he would probably make the connection that it is an output from thec omputer to the tv. If he was that stupid.. then I'm surprised he could register on the forums and then post.

Anyway, you need some kind of TV-out. There aren't many PCI cards that you can slap in that have a tv out, but they do exist. Your best bet is to use a video card with a tv-out. Any decent video card will have a tv out. I never buy a video card without VIVO (video in video out).
