FedEx is on the way to pick up my laptop for Compaq to repair. I need to get it backed up quickly, but I still keep running into these issues.
On one PC I'm using an "Anonymous" account that was added to the Administrators group.
I'm trying to access my laptop which has had the Administrator account renamed to "Anonymous".
Both have the same password.
I've been told that creating identical user names and groups accross all PCs is the way to do Peer-to-Peer networking in NT/2K/XP. So why doesn't it work? I can't browse the user's Documents and Settings folder or the Program Files or Windows directory.
Is this related to NTFS permissions or XP User permissions? When I'm using the same account, I should have identical permissions on both counts, right?
I'm forced to copy everything to a folder on the machine I'm storing it on using a touchpad from the laptop that won't give me the network permissions until I get some help. Thnx!
