Doing a cold mailing

Does anyone know specific rules and regulations for sending a mailing to about 1000 businesses? I know lawyer advertisements have to have "ADVERTISEMENT" at the top in a certain size font. What about just mailing brochures to certain targeted businesses?

There is no law against mailing other than decency type laws. You can easily look in the yellow pages for mailer companies.
