D'oh! Streaming/NetMeeting/Real Player Problem...

A friend of mine from St Louis has a thing going on Spotlife.com, where it's a basically a live video stream of him for all to see. It's apparently working for some other people we both know. However, I can't seem to get in. Everytime I I push play, it tries to connect for awhile, then just says it timed out. I tried manually opening Real Player and running the address through there, same result. I'm now downloading NetMeeting on his recommendation, he says I should be able to watch him through that.

Anyway, do you think it's just my ultra-slow 56k connection that's causing this problem? Or could be there be something else?

Thanks for your help

Well, so much for that. NetMeeting doesn't work with XP. Bah...

Anyway, any ideas for this?

Ah, yet another problem. I can't get rid of the damned program, or at least what it installed of itself. The folder is completely empty, but it wont let me delete the directory. ArgH!!!!

I'm not familiar with netmeeting, but you might have to restart to delete the directory.

I think there is a version of netmeeting in xp, but it takes some wierd command in the "run" dialog box to use it.

Does the website say what program it takes to view it?

Will your real player play other stuff off the web?

Besides that I am uncertain of what you can do. It might just be for high bandwith viewing or something.

Yeah, Real Player works fine with other stuff. I'll have to find some of our mutual friends whom it worked for and find out what kind of connection they have. Maybe that'll narrow it down. Thanks for the suggestions.
