im gonna go home and hug my dogs all night
So sad. It's amazing how attached we become with our dogs, and how "human" they seem sometimes. Our mini-schnauzer had a horrible bout of pancreatitis in January of this year (she was a little over a year-old at the time, but pancreatitis is common in schnauzers).
She was constantly throwing up, she was pooping blood. It was BAD. I had to take her to the vet, and the asshole doctor was like "Well, some dogs just get this and they die -- it happens". No bedside manner at all; I about started balling right there in the waiting right then and there. But they gave her some medicine and she had to fast for a bit...
It was a rough few days after that. She just looked so weak and helpless. I broke down in front of my wife and just started balling my eyes out. I'm just so damn close to her -- she's like a daughter to me (I know, it sounds weird).
But she made it through, and she's doing fine now thank goodness.
