Our dog is acting extremely sluggish today... typically he's very active and barks at neighboring dogs. Hardly a peep when he saw other dogs today. Even when he was taken for a walk, he didn't even bother running. He's a 6-yr old Pomeranian and they are always active and upbeat.

What could be wrong ? It's been real hot here lately and parents don't have A/C... could that be it ? I don't recall him being like this last summer...

Did you made sure that your dog had enough water during the day rh71?

yup...

I think it'd make me feel better if other dog owners would tell me it's normal for a dog to have an off-day here and there and behave like this every once in a while... is this true or no ?

Yeah, heat can really be a killer for 'em, even if they have enough water. I'd keep him in a cool area if you can (turn a fan on, see if he wants to lay down in front of it) and see how he feels. I'd wait until tomorrow to pass judgement; Neeko has "off" days on hot days all the time. When it hit 95 the other day, he just slept the whole day. I would say "dog park?" and he'd kinda look at me, half-interested, but wouldn't even get up. Normally he goes psycho. :p
