Doggy dreams and intelligence

I have two dogs, both mutts, and have had them both for about ten years. Nikki is the smart one, Sadie is the dumb one. I notice Nikki dreaming at least 3 or 4 times a week, she wimpers, her legs move, etc. As far as I remember, I've seen Sadie do this maybe 3 or 4 times in ten years. I'm wondering if there is some correlation here, the smart one dreams all the time, the dumb one almost never. Anyone notice similar behavior in your pets?

Then maybe Sadie is the smart one considering Nikki is the one who's too dumb enough to tell if it's just having a bad dream.
