It's so sweet, awesome screen, blazing CPU, and I don't know why more people don't talk about the voice recognition feature...

Anyway, it's definitely got the reception issue, if I grab it by the bottom, I can kill the signal in my apt... from 4 bars and 3G to "no service"

Sigh...

You can get it to actually say "no service"? I've never been able to do that no matter where I cover the phone. Do you have the latest update for the phone?

thats why i love the eris. :)

with 2.1 on it, feels fast, great reception and sound quality, and a smooth as silk experience.

good luck as google irons out the issues with the n1.

are you planning on unlocking it / running cyanogen? i have zero 3g issues whatsoever... although i didn't have them even when the device was stock. it was the first thing I tried and no matter how i held it the signal wouldn't change.

I've been using my nexus one for almost 2 weeks. I was having the Edge / 3g switching issue, especially here at work, but recently, I've noticed its been absolutely perfect.

I'm not sure what's changed, perhaps T-mobile's signal was strengthened in the area around my office or what, but I'm looking at 5 3g bars now matter how I hold the device. Last week was a different story, when i was definitely getting the switching behavior on how I held the phone.

I just now covered up the entire bottom half of my phone with two cupped hands and the signal dropped to 4 bars.

Now, this has been fixed...x-ing fingers, I couldn't be happier with this phone. I've definitely made some friends jealous with this thing. :p

i actually just installed the boxwave anti glare screen protector today:
http://www.boxwave.com/accessories/nexus-one-screen-protectors_3770.htm

they have an anti glare one and a glossy one. the anti glare one makes it easier to read outside, prevents fingerprints from smudging up the screen every 5 seconds, and makes the screen super smooth / non sticky.

cons: as with all matte screen protectors, it adds a slight graininess/sparkle to the image. it's noticeable, but it doesn't bother me.

i'm still using the slip case that came with it...don't see the need for anything else, although the all aluminum cases do look nice.

Check dcmugen on ebay. He's got the same screen protectors everyone else has, plus the same cases.

Got a black case, and 5 matte protectors for like $12 shipped from Hong Kong.

I determined its useable in sunlight, but you have to crank up the brightness to max.

Am not impressed with the digitizer, have had to do a couple of hard resets to get it to behave.

RF reception isnt that bad, its pretty fast even on edge.

Am still on the fence, the G1 was pretty bulletproof, glad I have 30 days to return it in CA...

i guess if you might want to return it you can't flash cyanogen...but just fyi, if you do...it unlocks the 1/2 of the ram that is locked in the stock kernel. much faster!

No success looking for that seller on eBay...

Ordered some stuff from CellPhoneShop, cheap clear hard case, screen protector, couple of extra chargers, couple of micro USB cables...

The thermoplastic cases look interesting, they'd provide a bit of shock absorption, dont like the silicone cases, they're too sticky when youre trying to get them out of your pocket...
