EHOBOTH BEACH, Del. (CBS) – Beer brewed with moon dust. It sounds like something out of an adult version of “My Little Pony,” but it’s real, and it’s being made in our area.

Dogfish Head, a craft brewery headquartered in Lewes, Delaware, has concocted the fairytale-worthy beer. They’re calling it “Celest-jewel-ale,” and yes, it’s actually made with lunar meteorites.

To be exact, Celest-jewel-ale contains crushed lunar meteorites that have been made into dust then steeped “like tea in a rich, malty Oktoberfest” yielding a beer with “subtle but complex earthiness” and hints of toasted bread, caramel and herbs.

According to the brewery, the crew at ILC Dover, a Delaware-based company that makes space suits for NASA, helped them get their hands on the rare ingredient.

Sadly, the celestial brew is only available at Dogfish Head’s Rehoboth Beach brewpub, but the two-hour drive from Philly is worth it for those who want a taste of outer space without leaving the atmosphere.

Dang. Any one live near Philly?
