Dog Peeing in house need some advice

I have a 5 yr old golden retriever mutt "Jack". He is neutered. We have had him for nearly 4 yrs now. Starting Friday he has started peeing on or near the bottom stair to the second floor. This is very unusual as he has not ever had this problem before so now he has done it 3 of 4 days in a row.

So far we haven't caught him in the act.

He had a check up about 2 weeks ago and was ok then I am thinking about taking him back to see if maybe he has a UTI.

I am going to try to de-scent the area with enzyme I hope that works but does anybody have any ideas as to WTF is going on with this dog?

As you said... maybe a UTI or other infection/sickness.

at least its your pet peeing in your property, in my case, its one of our neighbors letting his/her pet crap around our mailbox. Once I catch them in the act, i'll personally file a complaint.
